Indicolite is a mineral belonging to the tourmaline group, which differs from the others in its green/blue colour. In Europe this stone began to be known in the early 1700s, when it was imported from Sri Lanka.
Indicolite characteristics
Starting from its name, the word indicolite derives from the Latin and indicates the blue/azure color that characterizes this mineral.In the past it was believed that tourmalines in general possessed occult powers.
Varieties of indicolite, considered among the most valuable, range from bright blue to light blue.
With this stone we thought of making some jewels with indicolite made entirely by hand in our goldsmith workshop in Turin Virano Gioielli.

For this octagonal cut indicolite we created a choker with a diamond outline, in order to enhance its color.
