Revitalizing Old Jewelry: How to Give Them New Life
What is the tennis bracelet?
The tennis bracelet once known as the RIVIERE bracelet is made up of a continuous row of diamonds without beginning and end, with a concealed clasp. Precisely because of this shape, the bracelet symbolizes an infinite, important love that will never end.
For its essential design and its simple timeless elegance, it has always been considered a classic of jewelry and is much loved by all women because it is perfect to wear on all occasions.
But where does the name Tennis bracelet come from?
It seems impossible to believe it, but the history of the Tennis bracelet dates back to thirty years ago, when a well-known American tennis player, Chris Evert, lost his diamond bracelet during an important match. The champion, an icon of beauty and charisma, always wore a diamond rivière bracelet, even wore it on the court with her during her tennis matches. And it was during one of these, a US Open match, that he lost him on the pitch. Loose, Evert then asked the referee to be able to suspend the match until the precious jewel had been recovered and so it went.
During the press conference that followed the match, the tennis player justified that interruption by arguing that she absolutely had to recover her “Tennis Bracelet”, as she never separated from it. From that moment, given the great media impact of Chris Evert and the great following that the event had, the diamond rivière bracelet became the Tennis bracelet forever.
