- Cut
The classic shape of the cut is the round faceted one, called brilliant, with 57 facets. Other common cuts are: marquise cut, pear cut, emerald cut, heart cut, princess cut, and baguette cut. The cut is an important feature in determining the price, as the cost changes depending on the shape.
- Diamond color
The colors of diamonds are divided into the following classes: D I F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z Y Z. The color corresponding to the letter D is the most “white” or rather colorless in nature. As you descend into the alphabet, the stone becomes less and less colorless, until it takes on a yellow color.
- Purity of the diamond
Purity is given by the absence of imperfections. The certifications are performed with a 10 magnification lens, and the purity scale includes the following classes:

- VVS1, VVS2 Very very small inclusions
- VS1 VS2 Very small inclusions
- SI1 SI2 SI3 Small inclusions
- I1 I2 I3 Piquè
- Carat weight
The weight of a diamond is measured in carats and one carat is equivalent to 0.2 gr.
